Understanding "A Portrait of Mistinguett"

Picabia — 1917

Is this really “A Portrait of Mistinguett”?

Why is it often called Jeanne Marie Bourgeois when Mistinguett’s real
name was Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois?

Why does the woman in the painting seem more in line with a
1908 – 1911 time frame?

Why do the date and signature seem to have been added by Picabia later,
after some cracks had already formed on the surface of the painting?

These are the questions that kept Mistinguett out of Picabia’s Catalogue Raisonne.

Morée may give us the answers we need to correct the record.
